This Valentine’s Day, Starbucks is helping its loyal patrons celebrate a love bigger than a love for coffee. By teaming up with Match, the famous coffee retailer plans to host the world’s largest Starbucks date at participating U.S. and Canada stores, on February 13.

The idea for the event started brewing (pun intended) when executives from both companies recognized how central coffee is to fostering all kinds of relationships, including romantic ones. While Starbucks has largely sought to build its brand on the value of bringing people together and allowing them to share special moments over coffee, Match has realized that one in three singles lists having coffee together as a favorite first date.

The two companies thus decided to combine their goals of helping people find love and build connections over coffee. Through their partnership, Match and Starbucks have added a “Meet Me at Starbucks” feature on the popular dating site to make it easy for users to instantly invite another user to meet them over a cup of coffee. Users can also add a Starbucks badge to their profile to help them connect with other Starbucks lovers on the site.

In honor of Valentine’s Day, Starbucks and Match wanted to add a little something special for the couples whom they hope will plan their Starbucks dates on Match. By creating the world’s largest Starbucks date, the companies will make it possible for prospective couples to have the most unique Starbucks first date experience yet. From 2 p.m. to close, participating Starbucks stores will play romantic music, offer special menu pairings, and will even have fun photo props for dates to take pictures with.
