On Thursday, May 22, from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m, the Joyful Joy Foundation, a major not-for-profit organization that creates health and wellness programs for Africans living below the poverty line, will celebrate their annual anniversary fundraiser live from Motivo, located at 915 Broadway in Manhattan, N.Y.  Three-time NAACP Image Award Winner and Actor Malik Yoba and Miss Black USA 2010 winner and Co-Founder of the Joyful Joy Foundation (JJF) Osas Ighodaro, will join as hosts of the event.


The celebration will feature a one-hour open bar, sponsored by 1800 Tequila, live entertainment with talented vocalists, exceptional dance performances, and the best music set from DJ Jon Quick, the newest 107.5 WBLS mixshow DJ and, DJ Tunez, NYC’s number one African deejay.


The affair will also feature opportunities for guests to make charitable tax-deductible donations to support JJF’s current large scale malaria testing and treatment initiative in Nigeria.  During the event, guests will be entered into a raffle drawing to win two round-trip tickets for travel between New York and Lagos, Nigeria.  The ticket giveaway is courtesy of Arik Airline, the official airline of the Joyful Joy Foundation.  Admission is complimentary with a mandatory RSVP.


This year’s event commemorates both the work of JJF and the tremendous success of its launch event only a year ago.  The event which was hosted by Ighodaro and TV Personality AJ Calloway, also featured entrepreneurs and business professionals, New York City elected officials, corporate executives, celebrities, artists, professional athletes and notable figures in the nonprofit sector who all poured in to lend their support.
