In the recent destructive aftermath of Hurricane Maria, Puerto Rico has been devastated. Countless Puerto Ricans are in a crisis and left without the bare necessities of life such as food, water and electricity. Luckily, through the goodness of the heart of one individual in particular, some Puerto Ricans stricken with cancer may soon be receiving medical attention and hospitality from a certainly unexpected, albeit very generous source.

Armando Christian Pérez, better known by Mr. Worldwide himself Pitbull, is no stranger to generous and heartwarming acts for people all around the world. In 2012, through a silly internet prank organized through forum websites such as 4Chan and a promotion with Walmart, the man and Miami native formerly known as “Mr. 305” ended up performing for a Walmart and the citizens of Kodiak, Alaska, an island located 250 miles off the mainland and so secluded that the Walmart location receives their groceries by shipment.

“You gotta understand that I’ll go anywhere in the world for my fans.” Mr.  Worldwide said in response to the Internet pranksters that sent him to Kodiak.

During his visit, Pitbull couldn’t have been more welcoming and hospitable to the citizens of Kodiak and to the staff of Walmart. He did plenty of meet and greets in the store itself and afterwards, put on a private concert for the people of the town and genuinely enjoyed his visit there. You could just see that he wasn’t faking his enthusiasm about performing for his fans regardless of where they happen to live.

In a repeated yet not personally publicized act of generosity, Mr. Worldwide himself has once again done an amazing act of kindness and compassion. This time, he’s used his private plane to transport resources and supplies to the badly damaged island. Not only that, Pitbull is also transporting cancer stricken citizens to Miami to receive medical care for their conditions.

However, unlike many celebrities who publicize every last charitable action that they commit, Mr. Worldwide didn’t speak much about his actions.

“Thank god we’re blessed to help. Just doing my part.” Pitbull told reporters from New York Daily News.

Mr. Worldwide has received praise from a variety of individuals, including Puerto Rican Congresswoman Jenniffer González. She thanked Mr. Worldwide via Twitter and applauded his great acts of generosity.

“Thank you Pitbull for lending your private plane to move cancer patients from PR to USA so that they can get chemo.” she tweeted to Pitbull in response to his trips to Puerto Rico and back to Miami.

Regardless of which side of the aisle you’re on, it’s incredibly refreshing and honestly heartwarming to see someone as personable as Mr. Worldwide, formerly Mr. 305, performing such a great and noble deed for his fans yet remaining totally humble about the matter.

Pitbull has yet to speak further regarding his generosity and kindness when helping the citizens of Puerto Rico. But along with making more total bangers such as “Fireball” and “Timber”, I hope that Mr. Worldwide continues to do such generous acts as listed above.
