As sad as the end of summer is, the one thing that keeps us going into the harsh realization of reality is the prospect of fall clothing.

Sweaters, boots, scarves — the list goes on, and really there is no better time of the year for fashion. The weather is cool enough for layers and warm enough to leave your down feather parka at home. However, when you are tanning at the beach in a bikini on Sunday and then the leaves start to fall on Monday, transition outfits can be confusing — and no, a wool sweater over your swim suit does not count.

Don’t stress, your helpful MUIPR team is here to help you transition your wardrobe from one season to the next with minimal effort. Our style tips will help you tackle you closet conundrum like the next Rachel Zoe. Side note: we are always down for anything that will make us more like Rachel Zoe.

First things first, don’t forget your number one best fashion friend: the scarf. A scarf is your key to success this time of year. You can wear any shirt and pants combo, add a scarf, and your look screams, “I am ready for whatever breeze Mother Nature is planning on blowing my way.” A scarf adds warmth, style, and a touch of coziness to any outfit. This is Fall 2014. If you want to dominate it, a scarf will be your tool of success. Look to your grandmother. Does she ever take off her favorite necklace? No. Now look at yourself. Will you be taking off your favorite scarf? No. Glad we were able to settle that; now on to the next tip.

Wear tights. If not tights, then leggings. Basically any tight, stretchy fabric to cover your legs and keep off the cool breeze so that you can wear your favorite summer dress and pretend like it is still summer, all while looking like it is fall. You be might worried that tights are only to be worn in the color nude and by women who work as secretaries. While this is a valid concern, fear not. There are many ways to incorporate classy leg coverage into your wardrobe without looking like you are part of the Red Hat Society. Avoid pumps and suit skirts when wearing tights, and instead opt for booties and dresses. You can wear black or grey colored tights, or instead add a pop of color into your wardrobe with reds, oranges, and purples.

Finally, find yourself the perfect go-to lightweight jacket. There is no doubt that colder weather is coming. With the perfect jacket, you can still wear your sundresses, skirts, and t-shirts while still keeping relatively warm. As long as you have enough fabric up top, you can still bare some skin somewhere else. We know it is hard to see your beautiful tan fade, so try to show it off as much as possible. Use your jacket for warmth and show off a little leg for as long as you can. Pair with boots and a scarf, and you are all set.
