Over the years, beauty items have started to become more lighter, smaller and easy to carry around , especially when on the go. It’s hard, though, to figure out what’s worth carrying around and what isn’t, especially for a woman on the go!

So, to make your life a lot easier, here’s a list of beauty necessities to keep handy in your purse (aside from the obvious, of course).

5 Necessities for your purse

1. Towelette: If you suffer from oily skin, or you know you’re going to be sweating, there’s no better solution to have than witch hazel towelettes. The herb “witch hazel” is known for keeping oil under control, and is natural and safe. You can find these at your local drug store or on amazon.com for less than $5 for 60 of them, and they’re individually packaged so they’re easy to slip one or two in your purse. It’s simple to use; just wipe away excess oil or around your scalp line, and it’ll help control oil and build up during the day. It’s also perfect to get rid of that shine caused by oil!

2. Perfume: Another tiny necessity would have to be perfume. But who wants to lug around a bottle? Even those little “travel size” bottles from Bath and Body Works can get in the way if you like having a smaller purse. The solution? Try getting a sample of your favorite perfume from Sephora or Nordstrom’s! They’re slender and small and can hold up to 10 sprays (more than enough for just a quick spritz on the go!).

3. Lip Balm: While it might seem obvious, it’s rare to see people with lip balm at the ready. And a lot of people might not know this, but not all lip balm are created equally–especially for daily use. Lip balm is essential, especially in windy wear, to help stop them from getting blistered, sunburned, or chapped lips. A personal favorite would have to be the homemade lip balm from a company called Soap on Etsy. Try the earl grey lip balm, or the lavender lemon!

4. Hand Lotion: EOS Hand Lotion is easily one of the best portable hand lotions! It’s scentless, so it works wonders in keeping your perfume lasting a long time. Just apply a little bit of lotion, then spray with your sample perfume and it’ll last at least twice as long! It’s also great for those of us who have extra dry hands in winter, but it isn’t greasy like a lot of lotions. Not to mention, it’s slim, perfect to slip into your small purse.

5. Ointment: If lotion isn’t your forte, perhaps a better option would be the Burt’s Bee’s rescue ointment. It’s made with vitamin E, lavender, wheat germ, and comfrey. It’s a perfect combination that is great to apply to those painful cracked skin or when your cuticles are getting out of control. It’s also great for itchy skin! It’s a very herbal smell, so it’s also great to share with your male friends too!
