The runways at Fashion Week events around the world are always the best places to check out the next season’s hottest trends — once three or more designers feature similar designs in terms of color, fabric or tailoring, you know then that a trend is born.  Below is our short list of five best fashion trends spotted at the Fall/Winter 2014 Paris Fashion Week.

1. Leather The Storm – While some designers chose to express their feminine side, others like Sacia, Acne and Isabel Marant chose the more masculine route by giving us a variety of leather styles ranging from biker jackets to dresses and pants.

2. The Kick Flare – It’s time to bring out your bootcut trousers because they are back, according to Phoebe Philo of Céline. The kick flare trousers were also seen at the Balenciaga runway show.

3. Hot For Pink – Some designers including Giambattista Valli, Carven and Chanel uses soft pink colors to illustrate feminine sexiness and prowess on various levels.

5. Velvet Lover – This look was the favorites of Elie Saab, Victor & Rolf and Nina Ricci. If you still don’t have a velvet outfit, now might be the time to invest in it.
