Yesterday, Chris Pratt hosted a long awaited “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) session on Reddit. AMAs are best known as opportunities for celebrities to put themselves out there and have a live Q&A session with their fan base. Sometimes, spoilers are leaked or there are allusions to upcoming album releases or collaborations. Other times, it’s just a simple back-and-forth session between an icon and his or her fans.

Pratt’s AMA launched a few minutes after its scheduled time, but his headline: “Chris Pratt! AMA! Still half-drunk. Let’s make some mistakes today” provides an explanation. Regardless, his comments and answers to his fans questions were not at all disappointing. Much like his recent roles in “The Lego Movie” and “Guardians of the Galaxy,” the upcoming “Jurassic World” star holds true to the humorous and playful personality.

Of course with movie stars, someone has to ask what his or her favorite movie is and why. Pratt replied:

“That is such a hard question. Probably something i saw as a kid simply for the sentimentality of it all. So Like “Goonies” or “Bloodsport” or something like that. Or maybe “Rambo First Blood”…or maybe “City of God” because that movie is awesome or “Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon” or “Across the Universe” because I love the Beatles so much.”

Fans also got other insights into his personality when one Reddit user asked if he compared to his “Guardians of the Galaxy” character, Peter Quill. Pratt stated:

“Quill and I are basically the same person. We were born in the same year. We loved the same movies. The same music. If I were kidnapped at 10, taken to space and based my ideology on the pop culture of 1979-1989 I would be Peter Quill.”

The head description of the session is a quick promo for “Jurassic World,” due this June 12, and Pratt closed out by including a clip from the film. His fans are definitely anticipating this film; Pratt was even asked his favorite type of dinosaur. He promptly responded with: “the velociraptor. They are pack hunters and super cool. But I also love the Mosasaur. That’s the water dinosaur thing from the trailer.”

The great thing about Pratt’s session is his little tidbits and funny anecdotes he included throughout his answers. Tagging along to his appreciation of the Mosasaur, he offered, “before I got “Jurassic Park,” I gave James Gunn [“Guardians of the Galaxy” writer] a wrap gift of an authentic Mosasaur Jawbone Fossil. So basically I can control the future.”

Thanks to the curiosity of another Reddit user, Pratt offered his opinion on the similarity between the “Jurassic Park” books and the movies.

Movies have a hard time of capturing the grittiness of a novel. Whereas novels have a hard time being done in an hour and a half. This is not a reboot. It plays as a sequel 21 years after the events of the first movie. And it deals with societies relationship with science and how much it has changed over the past couple decades. We are no longer impressed by magical and wonderful things. Imagine if dinosaurs were back, and had been around for 21 years, would anyone think they’re cool anymore?

Unfortunately, Pratt’s 60-minute session was not long enough to answer specific questions for MUI Daily News. Chris Pratt, if you ever read this, we would like you to weigh in on the following:

In reference to your roles in “The Lego Movie,” “Guardians of the Galaxy,” and the upcoming “Jurassic World,” how do you feel about working with animated characters? How do you prepare to interact with them?

How do you feel about altering your body type, ie. gaining/losing weight for roles? Do you think it has any negative connotations to change one’s self to fit a role?

Although, we do have an idea of how he might respond to the latter question. A Reddit user jokingly suggested he was bitten by a “radioactive Chris Pratt” and wanted to know what is forthcoming. Pratt responded: “Oh no. You’re probably gonna get fat and then skinny.”
