Since the first Spiderman movie became popular, Marvel Studios has periodically raised the bar on the action and humor in their movies. The comic book-based movie studio truly focused their attention on providing fans with action and humor packed content in their upcoming feature “Guardians of the Galaxy.” The Internet Movie Database synopsis of the movie provides some insights:

Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe.

To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer.

But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand with the galaxys fate in the balance.

Through the newly polished movie trailer, we see that the creators of “Guardians of the Galaxy” have incorporated a type of humor that is most commonly associated with Robert Downey, Jr. in “Iron Man.” The trailer is not only hilarious, but it is also edge-of-your-seat exciting.

Without a doubt, Rocket the Raccoon (voice played by Bradley Cooper) and his houseplant/muscle Groot (voice played by Vin Diesel) appear to be the hilarious and badass duo of the bunch. The creators of the movie also picked a great actor for the sarcastic and overly confident Peter Quill in Chris Pratt. Pratt will be a great comedic compliment to the usual cocky hilarity we have come to expect from Robert Downey, Jr.

The “Guardians of the Galaxy” has also been closely linked to the Avengers; therefore, it should not come as much of a surprise to see characters from both movies overlap in seemingly confusing ways, as the timeline gets muddled when different authors enter the scene. It will be interesting to see how the writers of the movie incorporate all the intricacies of the characters and their connections on the big screen.

Karen Gillian, known for her role in “Doctor Who” as Amy Pond, plays the role of “Nebula” in the upcoming film.

Gillian described her villainous character Nebula as “strong, evil, sadistic, and amazing.” She also discusses that James Gunn, the director of the movie, has such a “strong individual style” that it became this unique “cool, funny, dark, and comedic” movie that she thinks is a brand new side of Marvel.
