California is one of the best places to visit in summer; the weather is nice, the food is delicious, and the places to visit are endless. No matter which part of California you visit, there is bound to be a winery nearby that a California native will tell you to visit. Here are the top wineries in a few counties you might be already visiting this summer.

Wine Tasting with a view (

Monterey — A Taste of Monterey: This winery is perfect for the tasting veteran and the beginner alike. This winery is located on Cannery Row, right next to the ever-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, loads of salt water taffy establishments, as well as some delicious eats like Bubba Gump (think Forrest Gump!).

A Taste of Monterey features the offerings of over 85 local wineries and local craft beers in a bar-type setting–and you are guaranteed a gorgeous view!

Geyserville — Trentadue Winery: Of all the flashy wineries you might find in a 40 miles radius of Napa County, Trentadue is still a small hidden gem with the best tasting wine around — particularly their sparkling wine.

This is also a perfect last stop in your trip around Sonoma County, as it is close enough to Healdsburg to stop at some great restaurants. Be forewarned, though: this winery is second to none, so be ready to buy plenty of wine and possibly a membership.

Malibu Wines (

Los Angeles County — Malibu Wines: Although there are more wineries than one might originally think, the one with the highest praise would have to be, hands down, Malibu Wines.

This is one of the most laid-back wineries in the area, and hosts live music in their outdoor seating area every weekend, so be sure to check their Event Calendar to see what they are up to.

Sonoma County — J’s Winery: There are countless places in the Sonoma County that everyone visiting should try, but for anyone–veteran, foodie, and beginners alike–it is J’s Winery. They have a special eight course menu in which they pair eight different wines with eight different high-quality and exceptional food courses.

This delicacy is taken place in the Bubble room — and it is a food and wine experience to die for that anyone can appreciate. Not to mention, the glorious view and the luxurious setting make it perfect for an anniversary, date, or celebration.
