We all have them — those days when the world seems to be plotting against you and nothing is going your way. Bad days are a part of life, and they can happen far too often. When you find yourself having a bad day, here are a few tips to help make your day a little better.

Running shoes1. Get some exercise. It may be difficult to motivate yourself to get up and exercise, but if you do, you will not be sorry. Exercising releases endorphins, which help to relieve stress and ease pain. When you exercise, you also have more energy. As you relieve stress, ease pain, and have more energy, your bad day may not seem so bad.

2. Help someone else out. Helping other people feels good. When you are having a bad day, helping someone else to have a good day can send some good karma your way. Even if it is as small as complimenting someone’s outfit or paying for their coffee, helping someone else will make their day better; knowing that can improve your mood.

3. Think Positive. It is easy to get in a negative mindset, but if you earnestly try your best to think positively, you might find that your day is not as bad you thought. If you find that you are always a negative thinker, positive thinking is a goal you should work toward everyday. When you think more positively, the little problems that occur throughout the day are less likely to bother you. People are also more likely to enjoy your company when you are a positive person.

5. Call or meet up with a friend. Talk to someone you love that can make you laugh. Being distracted from your bad day by enjoying some time with friends can help you destress and find your zen.
